‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Isaiah Washington Claims Ellen Pompeo Was Paid $5M In Hush Money

Isaiah Washington claims that “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo accepted “$5 million dollars under the table” to “not tell the world how toxic and nasty Patrick Dempsey really was” on set.

During an interview on Tavis Smiley’s radio show, Washington said Dempsey “was not a nice guy from day one.”

Washington was accused of being homophobic. He claims he was a scapegoat. “I didn’t know that (the homophobic accusation) would stick to me so hard. But I found out why,” said Washington. “It was an agenda to cover up for the toxic and bad behavior of many of my former castmates on that show. And the top of that would be Patrick Dempsey.”

Washington accused Pompeo of taking “hush money.”

Washington also claimed that he initially auditioned for the part Dempsey played, neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd, aka “McDreamy,” but Pompeo, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey, said she didn’t want a Black actor to star as her love interest because “she had a Black boyfriend, she didn’t feel comfortable.”
