Drake’s Certified Lover Boy has outsold Kanye West’s Donda album by almost double.
Certified Lover Boy is the No. 1 album in the country and is “the biggest week for any album in over a year,” selling 613,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. for the week ending Sept. 9, according to MRC Data.
The record for the biggest album stream in a year was previously held by units Kanye West’s Donda earned last week, which sold 309,000 equivalent units.
Last week, Swizz Beatz revealed that Kanye West wanted to do a Verzuz with Drake.
“Kanye was willing to do the Verzuz. He wanted to battle Drake,” Swizz said. “I think their communication started getting in a zone. I left that up to them, and that’s what I told to [Timbaland], as well. I was like, ‘Yo, they have to bring that to the table.’ They would have to agree to do that. Kanye was ready, but I don’t know where that’s at now. I’m still leaving it on them.”
Should they do it?
