Donald Trump’s Former Advisor Surrenders To The FBI

Donald Trump’s former advisor Steve Bannon turned himself over to the FBI after being hit with contempt charges by Congress for failing to appear and be questioned about the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots.

Bannon was charged last week with one count for refusing to appear for a deposition and another related to his refusal to produce documents to the House committee.

Each count carries a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of one year in jail, as well as a fine of up to $100,000, the Department of Justice said.

“I’m telling you right now, this is going to be the misdemeanor from hell for Merrick Garland, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden,” Bannon told reporters, as he said that he was going to take “down the Biden regime.”

He was not ordered to be detained until ahead of his trial. Biden’s government is trying to hold everybody involved in Jan. 6 accountable after Trump was let off the hook.
