To Catch A Predator host Chris Hansen has turned himself in to authorities after he failed to give a defense attorney a full video connected to a sex trafficking case.
Hansen had been assisting authorities with the came. Three men charged with attempting to meet underage girls for sex, according to the AP.
After turning himself in, he was quickly released and given 14 days to provide the court with the full video. Clint Perryman, Hansen’s attorney, the warrant was rescinded.
“[Hansen] wasn’t intending to not appear or to be somebody that was trying to circumvent the process,” Perryman told the AP. “It was just an unfortunate set of circumstances that resulted in a failure to appear.”
He also added that Hansen and his team had presented the court with an edited version of the film, but the defense wanted all of it in case there was exculpatory information.
Hansen is a free man for now.
