Charli XCX Told Us the #1 Trend That Makes a ‘Fit Really Pop

If anyone knows how to turn heads, it’s Charli XCX. The British pop star and music mogul has perfected the art of her grunge-meets-glam aesthetic over the years with signature elements like high-volume hair and sultry smoky eyes that accompany each of her red carpet and street style looks. But whether she’s stepping out in a simple button-down shirt during New York Fashion Week or a nearly sheer dress on the VMAs red carpet, there’s always a cool-girl feel to what she’s wearing.

More recently, Charli has joined forces with Pandora for the brand’s latest launch, a collection dubbed Pandora Me, alongside a crew of TikTok favorites such as Addison Rae and Donté Colley. “The whole collection champions individuality, and that’s something that’s always been important to me in my music,” she shared with Who What Wear. “But also, I really like everyone who’s in the collective. It’s a really good group of people.”

We spoke with Charli about the jewelry launch, her mantra when it comes to accessorizing, and, of course, her favorite pieces. She also told us her secret to making a sartorial impact regardless of what you’re wearing, and it all comes down to this major 2021 jewelry trend.

Pandora Me is all about customizing and creating a unique combination of jewelry staples depending on your personality, style, and mood, so naturally, we asked Charli XCX to describe her approach toward accessorizing. “I’m a ‘more is more’ person. I like to layer,” she told us. “Generally, I like chunky jewelry, so this is perfect for me. I really like the chain-link necklace and how you can layer them. Those are my favorite and the reason why I wanted to do the collaboration. It feels more me—a bit more grungy and messy, but in a good way.” Her style may skew edgier, but according to the star, these chunky chains are the one jewelry trend that can easily translate to any style or outfit and take it to the next level.
