The rise in political violence is no accident.
If you wolfed down a steady diet of Legacy Media news you’d think the proper political channels weren’t enough to stop Adolf Trump and his Fourth Reich. CNN just blamed a federal government worker’s death on the President without anything approaching evidence.
Some stars are making matters worse.
Take Jimmy Kimmel. The far-Left comic who covered up President Joe Biden’s mental decline last year teed off on President Donald Trump in a new Rolling Stone interview.
Fine. Criticizing politicians is a time-honored tradition, especially in comic circles. Kimmel didn’t stop there, though.
Consider the language used in this excerpt from the interview.
“There’s no decency. It’s just a bunch of animals [emphasis added], and it’s disgusting,” he said. “I mean, on the Fourth of July, I still put up a flag, and I’m never going to stop doing that, because I’m never going to let them have that symbol.”
Republicans can’t have the American flag? Interesting…
Not to be outdone, “comic” Amber Ruffin also dehumanized Trump’s inner circle in a recent political rant. Ruffin was slated to perform at the White House Correspondents’ Association gala later this month. The WHCA rescinded the offer, realizing she would deliver a one-sided jeremiad against Team Trump that would make the affair look a tad biased.
Legacy Media is far, far worse than merely “biased,” but journalists love to cosplay otherwise.
Here’s what Ruffin said about Trump’s team during a podcast interview. (It’s possible these leaked comments led to her removal)
Playing to both sides “makes them feel like human beings,” she said, “’cause they’re not.”
Oh, and she also compared Trump’s inner circle to “murderers.” Hate Trump all you want. This goes beyond that.
Which brings us to Tina Fey.
Fey shared stories of her recent tour with longtime chum Amy Poehler. The tour featured the duo reclaiming their “Weekend Update” routine from “Saturday Night Live.” One of the bits found them mocking DOGE creator Elon Musk, leading to a curious reaction from their fans.
During the first of two Detroit shows in April, 15 minutes of fresh material includes a joke about Elon Musk while an image of a burning Tesla projects behind them. The sold-out crowd, most of them white women and one of them my mother, scream-laughs in approval.
Vandalism is funny, right?
Later in the interview, we learn that Fey declined a photo opp with Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. Why? She wasn’t sure of his political leanings. For what it’s worth, Duggan is a Democrat who will run as an independent in the future.
Boy, she dodged a bullet. Imagine taking a picture with someone who didn’t perfectly align with your worldview.
These over-the-top reactions help us understand why the American public has turned on not just the Legacy Media but Hollywood stars.
