A Brooklyn woman is going viral, after she held her baby shower aboard New York City’s L Train, MTO News has learned. And none of her invited guests were wearing face masks.
The video quickly went viral, and has already been seen across social media by more than 5 million people. In the video, which MTO News has viewed, the Brooklyn woman walked onto the L train at the Bedford station – and was greeted by her family and friends – who decorated the subway car for the baby shower.
The woman appeared surprised, but happy – and even popped the gender reveal balloon. She’s having a boy.
Immediately after the video was posted online, onlookers were outraged at the number of maskless guests at the party. MTO News recorded one comment as stating, “They just out here spreading corona.”
New York City is at the early states of a third wave of coronavirus cases.
Sarah Feinberg, the interim president of the New York City Transit Authority, told the press (including MTO News) that while wearing a mask in the subway system is hot and annoying, due to federal regulations, all riders must wear masks while on public transportation.
