The attorney of Britney Spears has filed a motion slamming her father, Jamie Spears and her former security team, Black Box, for their alleged illegal monitoring of her phone and home.
In the court documents, he says Jamie “engaged in horrifying and unconscionable invasions of his adult daughter’s privacy.”
“Specifically, the Times reported that he and others ‘ran an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored [Ms. Spears’s] communications’ and also evidently captured attorney-client communications with her prior lawyer, which communications are a sacrosanct part of the legal system,” Mathew Rosengart continued.
He also released a statement to Page Six on Monday.
“Unauthorized recording or monitoring of Britney’s private communications … represent an unconscionable and disgraceful violation of her privacy rights and a striking example of the deprivation of her civil liberties,” Rosengart said.
Jamie’s lawyer, Vivian Lee Thoreen, said his “actions were done with the knowledge and consent of Britney, her court-appointed attorney and/or the court.”
An attorney for Edan Yemini said, “Black Box have always conducted themselves within professional, ethical and legal bounds, and they are particularly proud of their work in keeping Ms. Spears safe for many years.”
