British rapper Wiley is facing assault and burglary charges after he allegedly broke into an east London flat, assaulted the male occupant — his kickboxer friend Ali Jacko — and caused criminal damage.
Wiley, 42, will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court next week charged with assault by beating and burglary with intent to cause criminal damage.
“Officers attended the location. It was alleged that a man had entered the flat, assaulted the occupant and caused criminal damage to property. The man was arrested and taken into custody,” The Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
“The occupant, an adult male, sustained a minor injury. London ambulance service were not required.”
He allegedly kicked the kickboxer.
Wiley was awarded with an MBE in the 2018 new year honors for services to music. Last year, he was suspended indefinitely from Twitter after an alleged anti-Semitic rant against his former manager. He denied he was being anti-Semitic.
He released his last two albums, The Godfather 3 and Boasty Gang, in 2020 and says he is now retired.
