Black Twitter is trying to bring down Cardi B, and saying that the female rapper is the “female Bill Cosby.”
The criticism of Cardi B stems from a 4 year old Instagram Live video, where she publicly bragged that she drugged men in the past, and then robbed them and possibly more, MTO News confirmed.
Yesterday, popular Black intellectual Boyce Watkins, compared her with Bill Cosby:
Cardi is fighting back now, but when her comments first went viral, Cardi didn’t seem to have any remorse for the physical violation of her victims.
“Whether or not they were poor choices at the time, I did what I had to do to survive,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I never claimed to be perfect or come from a perfect world.”
In the video, Cardi bragged about assaulting unsuspecting men – who were trying to hook up with her. “Nothing was handed to me. Nothing,” she said in the video, before going on to reveal that she would invite men to a hotel before drugging and robbing them.
In response to the furor, she wrote on Instagram that she had been talking “about things in my past right or wrong that I felt I needed to do to make a living”.
She wrote: “I never glorified the things I brought up in that live , I never even put those things in my music because I’m not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it.
“I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options.”
