KJ Smith is one of the most promising new actresses on the scene – and she’s making HUGE waves. MTO News learned that last night she stepped out on the red carpet in Atlanta wearing a dress that made everyone on the red carpet’s mouth drop.
KJ stars in the BET hit series Sisters, and she’s being pushed as the “next big Black Hollywood star.” And given her antics on the red carpet last night, they may be right.

KJ, 36, is an actress and model.
In 2016, she had a recurring role in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series Queen Sugar. She later guest starred on Being Mary Jane, Saints & Sinners, Dynasty, NCIS: Los Angeles and Black-ish. From 2015 to 2018, Smith had a recurring role in the Bounce TV sitcom Family Time.
In 2019, Smith starred in A Madea Family Funeral, the eleventh and final installment of the Madea film series. Later she was cast in the BET drama series The Family Business and had a recurring role in the ABC drama series The Fix.
Smith also filmed her first film leading role in the drama film The Available Wife.Later in 2019, Smith was cast in a leading role in the BET comedy-drama series, Sistas, that premiered in October 2019.
In July 2020, Smith starred in the Netflix psychological thriller film Fatal Affair.
She’s currently her Sistas Co-star, Skyh Alvester Black.
