Named one of the most powerful stylists in Hollywood by The Hollywood Reporter, Erin Walsh is the talent behind many of the best-dressed celebrities on the red carpet. Among them, Anne Hathaway, whose style transformation over the last year she has been behind, launching the actress into a directional fashion space that brings a new level of glamour and cool sexiness to her internet-shattering looks. “Annie and I have a lot of fun,” says Walsh. “I think it works so well because we listen to each other and we listen to how things land. We both love telling stories with fashion and bringing a little joy, power, and fun to the table with it.”
Interested to speak with the powerhouse stylist further on fashion, I asked Walsh to share the best summer trends to know this season. One of the first categories Walsh is focused on: Sunglasses. As a style ambassador for eyewear brand, Silhouette, Walsh has a close relationship with the brand and speaks to the power of accessorizing for taking your style to the next level. “I am all about leveling up with accessories,” Walsh says. “I love that out of so many options out there, given the thoughtful minimalistic design and lightweight, flexible feel, they actually don’t hinder the getting ready or styling process. It just makes things easier, lighter, cooler. I think style that somehow feels effortless usually works the best.” Ahead read more about stylist Erin Walsh’s fashion recommendations and her top summer trends to shop this season.
“I think you will see a lot more in the way of very translucent and pale and colored lenses and styles that allow people to push the envelope while still feeling super comfortable. That’s where Silhouette is really paving the way; their designs are timeless while also feeling unexpected, and the frames are so comfortable you forget you have anything on!”
“Skirt suits! I am obsessed with this. Mini skirt and cropped jacket. It feels very Jane Birkin meets working girls meets Barbie at the beach. I love that it’s feminine but also business.”
“Love these when paired with proportionally friendly options. Love a baggy cargo as well, typically high-waisted. I love options from Frankie Shop and Khaite.”
“I live for this trend. Think ’80s preppy on a boat. Sporty and Rich Princess Diana vibes mixed with Swedish minimalism like Toteme. Super fun and always looks like you are ahead of the game.”
“I was reminded of the power of deconstructed bits from designers like Sacai on a recent trip to Japan. It adds an interesting note of ‘out there’ but still with it to an outfit.”
