As far as skincare goes, I have a huge—I mean massive—collection of masks: mud masks, sheet masks, special-occasion masks I’ve been saving for eventual weddings. You name it, I’ve got it. But now that I’m going on month seven of working from home—and will still be in the same exact place throughout the foreseeable future—I’ve realized the time is actually now to put these masks to use. (Your girl needs something to look forward to these days.)
My co-workers are feeling the same way. So in an effort to find anything that makes them feel good right now, four Who What Wear staffers tried the new Versed Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask for two weeks. The once-a-week golden gel mask is made with AHAs, BHA, papaya and pineapple enzymes, which exfoliate dull, rough skin and leave it looking clear and radiant. After regular use, skin should be smoothed, fine lines softened, pores minimized, and dark spots brightened. So did it live up to the hype? Find out below.
“I typically have problematic, acne-prone skin, and I have fine lines on my forehead. Once a month, I try to blame it on PMS, but I’ve come to the harsh realization that it’s just my skin type. I struggle with extreme hyperpigmentation, so every time I try a new mask, I’m always praying that it lightens my dark marks. This mask really helped with the visibility of my scars. I’ve tried several masks that are designed to brighten, and they all burn my skin or tingle, which makes me feel weird. This mask did the opposite. It was smooth and light, almost jelly-like, and my face felt so refreshed when I rinsed it off. I also love how effective it is after only leaving it on for three minutes. I personally feel like leaving a mask on for 10 to 15 minutes is excessive for someone (like me) who likes to touch their face a lot. Overall, I’m very pleased with the results. My acne calmed down. My skin felt way smoother, my fine lines on my forehead were less visible, and my skin was just less dull. This mask gave me a glow that threw all my insecurities out the window!”
“I suffer from occasional acne breakouts, hyperpigmentation, and dry skin and have been looking for something to help. My dermatologist, Dr. Chris Tomassian (who also happens to be my boyfriend), has recommended I start to incorporate AHA and BHA solutions into my weekly skincare routine, so I started with this mask. After doing a spot test on my neck to be sure it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin, I started using it once a week. After the first time, my skin looked so much brighter and even. Now that I’m a few weeks in, my skin looks and feels rejuvenated, and I’m even confident enough to take my daily video calls without any makeup. I’ve already seen such amazing results with this new mask. “
“My typically oily skin appeared more controlled, baby soft, and brighter after the first use. I love the texture of the mask itself, so lightweight that you barely notice it’s on. My pores also appeared smaller and felt less congested, which is the main thing I look for when trying out a new mask. A bonus was that there was no irritating scent, and you’re only required to leave it on for three minutes to see these drastic results. I stored mine in the fridge so that it was cold when I put it on, and it for sure made my skin feel extra fresh. I definitely plan to continue to use this mask weekly, especially when my skin is in need of a pick-me-up.”
“I’m a creature of habit when it comes to my skincare routine. I have combination-oily skin, so it’s taken a ton of trial and error to nail down the best routine for myself, especially since my skin tends to freak out when I try something new. Luckily, the ingredients in the new Versed mask are gentle enough that I knew it wouldn’t throw my skin over the edge. I’m not new to trying AHAs and BHAs, but it was my first time trying anything with pineapple and papaya enzymes. After the first time I gave this mask a go, I noticed my skin looked and felt instantly more smooth and bright, giving me the perfect canvas for the rest of my routine. And after the second time? My skin went from dull to that post-facial glow that makes you look more awake. As a 30-year-old mom of a toddler, this little jar of glow is just what the doctor ordered.”
