Amber Ruffin got a raw deal.
The former Peacock talker got hired, and then dismissed by the White House Correspondents Association to emcee its April gala.
The WHCA didn’t mention Ruffin’s name in the cancellation announcement. Nor did anyone from the corrupt group explain why she was chosen for the honor and, later discarded.
She deserves better. That doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be a train wreck on the night in question.
Even by far-Left standards, Ruffin is a progressive bomb thrower, a clapter-approved satirist who hits mostly one side. That’s exactly the image the WHCA wants to avoid on its biggest night of the year.
Case in point: Ruffin threw a public tantrum on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” this week. And, in the process, she cited one of the biggest Fake News stories of the past decade.
She never should have been tapped for the WHCA gig in the first place.
Amber Ruffin joked about being dropped by the WHCA on last night’s ‘Late Night’ as Seth Meyers came to her defense.
“We have a free press so that we can be nice to Republicans at fancy dinners. That’s what it says in the First Amendment,” she said.

Newsbusters shared her exchange with the far-Left Meyers, a conversation that didn’t so much as suggest humor, let alone insight.
The tag-team duo suggested it’s “divisive” to mock a thief who attempted to rob a New York City bodega.
Why? Because the WHCA said hiring a political comic this year would also be “divisive.”
Laughing yet?
MEYERS: But that doesn’t make sense in this case. You know, there’s an innocent bodega owner, there’s a burglar.
RUFFIN: Or hear me out, there are very fine people on both sides. [emphasis added]
MEYERS: Yeah, but he shattered the front door of a bodega.
RUFFIN: Did he or did he provide an innovative ventilation system?
MEYERS: Yeah, but he stole the cash out of the register.
RUFFIN: He received a microloan.
MEYERS: He set fire to the ATM.
RUFFIN: He bravely fought inflation. Thank you for your service.
Satire scores when it’s based on reality. Ruffin chose another path. The media is cartoonishly biased against President Donald Trump. Any suggestion otherwise is beyond absurd.
Plus, Ruffin cited the “very fine people” hoax to attack Trump. The narrative has been debunked by all sane parties but remains a fixture for bubble-dwelling liberals. Former President Barack Obama weaponized it against Trump as late as last October.
Even the far-Left Snopes called it out, albeit years after the event in question.
(That was no accident)
Still confused? No worries. This video explains it all.
So why would Ruffin bring the hoax up anew? Either she’s not very bright or she doesn’t care that it’s a false narrative.
The WHCA made a mistake by rescinding their invitation to the comedian. The bigger mistake? Tapping her for the gig in the first place.
