ABC brass thought they had shut Roseanne Barr up for good.
The network canceled her “Roseanne” revival in 2018 after she uncorked a crude, racially-charged Tweet about a former Obama official. Barr swiftly apologized and feigned ignorance on the target of her post.
Apology not accepted.
Barr licked her professional wounds and came back on her own terms. She starred in a comeback FOX Nation comedy special, launched a self-titled podcast and began playing gigs at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership. She even snagged a role on DailyWire+’s “Mr. Birchum” series.
Now, she’s rapping alongside one of music’s most successful indie artists days before President-Elect Donald Trump takes the oath of office.
Again.
Tom MacDonald’s “Daddy’s Home” celebrates Trump’s November victory. The jubilant track finds MacDonald and Barr posing before a mob of flag-waving MAGA fans.
The song quickly became the top track on iTunes.
“Daddy’s Home” takes shots at woke culture and outgoing President Joe Biden. Barr gets a solo turn and lets loose.
They tried to cancel me and say that I’m a racist
Got a mean hook, they can’t get me with that jab (with the jab)
Try and take away my rights to go and say this (woo!)
Well listen up, ’cause this granny’s going bad (goin’ bad)
With the facts, facts, facts, facts
F***, f***, f***
Why’d they try and turn Becky into Dan? (that’s a man!)
You get pap, pap, pap, pap, pap, pap, papped
Screw Eminem, bitch, I’m Roseanne (That’s Roseanne)
The late Norm Macdonald had praised Barr for going out of her way to hire black writers on “Roseanne.” The sitcom queen helped future female artists to call their own shots in Hollywood.
She’s been a friend to the gay community (“Roseanne” featured a rare lesbian kiss) and used her rebooted sitcom to bridge the gap between the Left and the Right.
She’s also talked about her mental health struggles and ran for the White House as part of the Green Party. She uses an offensive word for gay people in “Daddy’s Home,” bleeped above, showing her need to provoke hasn’t ebbed.
Now, music is part of her unofficial “Revenge Is Sweet” tour.
“Daddy’s Home” generated more than 1.5 million YouTube views in less than 24 hours.
