The Harsh Truth Behind Jenna Ortega’s Hollywood Rant

Rising star Jenna Ortega has a bone to pick with Hollywood.

The actress, best known for Netflix’s “Wednesday,” gave a frank interview to Vanity Fair in which she lamented Cancel Culture and Hollywood’s thought police.

Except she didn’t use those words. And more importantly, she ignored the crucial context behind her views.

It began with a recitation of her pro-Palestinian sentiments. That didn’t get Ortega cancelled, unlike her former “Scream” costar Melissa Barrera. The latter’s comments went beyond, “I wish for Middle East peace” or, “The Palestinian people deserve safety and security.”

Far beyond. And she lost her “Scream” gig as a result.

Ortega was spared, in part, because her rhetoric proved less extreme. And she refuses to be stifled. Her Vanity Fair chat finds Ortega worrying her fellow actors can no longer speak their minds without repercussions.

“The business that we work in is so touchy-feely,” she says. “Everybody wants to be politically correct, but I feel like, in doing that, we lose a lot of our humanity and integrity, because it lacks honesty … I wish that we had a better sense of conversation. Imagine if everyone could say what they felt and not be judged for it and, if anything, it sparked some sort of debate, not an argument … am I describing world peace?”

She sure isn’t describing Hollywood.

Ortega is still 21 and fairly new to show business. A refresher course is in order.

First, let’s start with Cancel Culture and the New Woke Order. It comes overwhelmingly from the Left, the political ideology of Hollywood, Inc. It explains why so many stars are frightened to share their views, even innocuous thoughts shared by most Americans.

Consider how Mario Lopez groveled for forgiveness after saying this:

“…if you’re three years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I think it’s dangerous as a parent to make that determination then,” he said. “It’s sort of alarming, and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on.”

It gets much worse.

Does the star of the upcoming “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” sequel know about the new Hollywood Blacklist? Conservatives are afraid to share views on the economy, immigration and more for fear of career fallout. Support Donald Trump? Better double check your unemployment insurance.

A few conservative stars can be themselves, including Jon Voight and Tim Allen. Others, like Nick Searcy, explore gigs outside the Hollywood ecosystem after sharing their right-leaning views.

The rest stay quiet, afraid to watch their careers go up in smoke for holding the “wrong” views.

It’s likely Ortega doesn’t know about this sorry state of affairs. She’s young and likely doesn’t read Breitbart News, The Federalist or other outlets that explore the new Blacklist.

Here’s the million dollar question.

Will she speak out after learning how James Woods, Kevin Sorbo and more are punished in La La Land? If not, her attacks on political correctness are as phony as a CGI effect.
