John Leguizamo’s Fake News Posts No Laughing Matter

John Leguizamo may be Hollywood’s most strident woke warrior.

The 63-year-old star promotes Identity Politics above all in interviews and on social media. One quick example? He complained about casting white voice actors Charlie Day and Chris Pratt in “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”

Even his X bio brims with woke flourishes, including the recently-discarded term “Latinx.”

I’m a counter culture, outgoing introvert, Latinx, underachieving overachiever trying to leave this blue pebble a better place than when I entered it!

So the star’s Trump derangement hardly comes as a surprise. If he didn’t rage against the 45th president it would be shocking. Yet even Trump’s loudest critics, think Stephen Colbert, took a brief knee following the July 13 attempt on the former president’s life.

Not Leguizamo.

This week, the actor shared an image of Trump with a perfectly intact ear to claim the president wasn’t hit by a bullet during the weekend’s rally in Butler, Pa.

He’s lying, Leguizamo said. And he has the receipts.

The platform’s Community Notes program fact-checked the claim, noting the picture is circa 2022.

It’s a lie, part of a growing, far-Left conspiracy that the attempt on Trump’s life, seen on video by millions, never happened.

You’d think the star might be embarrassed by that Tweet and either take it down or apologize for it. Not Leguizamo. It’s still up as of today despite dozens of followers letting him know it’s a lie.

If this were an isolated incident it would be embarrassing but hardly uncommon. After all, most of us have been tricked by a social media post in recent years. X moves fast, and it’s easy to get stung by a fraudulent post.

Except the actor has done it before.

Last week, Leguizamo reposted a story alleging Trump was part of the Jeffrey Epstein child abuse scandal.

Does anyone believe the media would cover for Trump if documents proved he was one of Epstein’s “clients?”

Of course not.

It’s another conspiracy theory aimed at taking down Trump.

The star, who occasionally helms “The Daily Show” faux news desk, can’t be trusted to share solid information. He’s an actor, and social media users shouldn’t lean on him for facts in the first place.

It’s still galling to watch him peddle conspiracies to his 410K followers.

Even worse?

Hollywood has no problem hiring him again and again despite using his celebrity clout to deceive his fellow Americans.

A satirist would have a field day with an actor who spread crazy conspiracies on social media. It’s unlikely Leguizamo will out himself with a future “Daily Show” segment.
