And if I’m being honest, when it’s bitterly cold, it can be tricky to keep up the polished look we’re all eternally striving for, right? If you’re feeling the same then fear not, I’ve done the work for you and scoured the internet for the 8 winter styling ideas that will elevate your cold-weather looks and make your ‘fits just that bit chicer. Read on for my favourite 8 styling tricks to keep you looking chic all winter long, as well the pieces you may need to recreate the looks (although I am sure these are all regular staples in our wardrobes already). Enjoy!

Style Notes: All our favourite influencers including Hannah have been throwing their jumpers over their shoulders for a while now and we are here for it. Ideally you want it to be cosy enough to wrap around and act scarf-like, so consider opting for a super soft material like mohair.

Style Notes: Neutral tones might just be my favourite shades to wear in winter. The trick to making your outfit look more expensive here is to stick to hues that are from the same colour family. Mix up your textures by teaming cashmere and wool for extra style points.

COS’s cashmere always washes really well. Yes, it’s an investment but you can also wear your favourite cotton or jersey hoodie as part of this trick. There are no rules!

Style Notes: I swear this styling trick is what gets me through winter. It’s all about the sleek layers with this one, so try wearing a slim fitting option like this Uniqlo jacket under your coat for a really flattering silhouette. Just add chunky lug soled boots for an easy weekend outfit.

Style Notes: There’s something so luxurious about a beautiful scarf. Stick to neutral hues like beige, grey or white for the most premium look.

I always go to the men’s department when buying knitwear for a relaxed look.

H&M rules when it comes to premium-looking accessories for reasonable prices.

Style Notes: I’ve spotted this look on quite a few fashion people this season and I’m obsessed. It’s all about the proportions here and to nail this fairly out-there layering look, ensure your top half is pared back and kept simple.

It’s the balloon sleeve detail for me.

Pleated skirts are surprisingly versatile. Style over trousers now but in the summer just add loafers and shirt.
