8 Chic Party Outfit Ideas I'm Stealing From Celebrities This Season

There are few people who attend parties and events quite as regularly as celebrities. From red carpet premieres to fancy award season soirées, frequent event attendance is basically written right into the job description. So when it comes to party outfit inspiration, who better to turn to than those who dress up as a professional prerequisite?

With party season officially upon us (how are we already in December?), I’ve taken it upon myself to scour through the latest celebrity looks to bring you some of the chicest event outfit formulas and coolest party trends out there. Between actors, singers and models, there is certainly no shortage of stylish looks around, and whether you’re partial to a shimmering skirt or are more fond of tailored separates I’ve found a look for just about every aesthetic. Why not take a leaf out of Laura Harrier’s book and embrace the season’s hottest hue? Or emulate Victoria Beckham by keeping things classic with an updated LBD?

From keep scrolling for eight celebrity party outfit ideas and trends I love this celebratory season.

Style Notes: Bold pink hues were all over the winter runways last year, with Valentino putting all-pink outfits on the map with its Pink PP collection. Add in the rise of Barbiecore and it seems unsurprising that this shade has been huge on the celebrity circuit too this season. Laura Harrier’s off-the-shoulder gown giving us all the inspiration we need to try it for ourselves. The matching pink lipstick? A gorgeous touch.

E Stott can always be relied upon for feminine classics.

You can also wear this with jeans or wide-leg trousers.

But we love the matching skirt, of course.

Style Notes: Simply put, Hailey Bieber oozes cool. The model could make anything look covetable. Though, this outfit is a particular favourite of mine. The blazer dress, the sparkly boots—it’s all so festive and chic. Sunglasses optional.

The subtle tuxedo details tick off another major dress trend.

The ultimate party boots.

Try wearing this with a pleated midi skirt for a demure take on party dressing.

A statement boot if ever I saw one!

Style Notes: Party season is my favourite time of year for dressing, as it’s when all the most beautiful fabrics come out to play. Nicola Coughlan’s sheer organza dress is a sight to behold and looks even more breathtaking with the addition of equally romantic-looking pearl jewellery and heart-shaped handbag.

So beautiful.

This is made to be worn with black tailored trousers and courts.

Wear with big pants underneath or get creative with your layering by wearing over a slip dress in a light hue so you can see all that pretty detailing.

Style Notes: A huge part of Kate Moss’s appeal is that her outfita never look try-hard; every combination is effortless in its assembly. Case in point, her simple minidress and faux-fur coat ensemble. With dipping temperatures, coats are a non-negotiable part of party dressing, and what could be more glamorous than faux fur? I love how she’s matched up the hemlines here for a pulled-together finish.

This will look just as chic with jeans as it will a minidress.

The devil’s in the details.

Rich hues of ruby, brown emerald or sapphire will make any outfit feel like a party outfit.

Such a versatile piece.

Style Notes: After months of relaxed and oversized silhouettes dominating the style agenda, for party season, celebrities are embracing tight-fitting pieces once more. KNWLS is one of the hottest brands right now, with its mesh separates catching the eye of Dua Lipa. Kai Collective, however, also creates some incredible mesh pieces in a diverse size range.

Definitely a brand name to memorise for 2024.

Tap into the sheer trend with a pair of translucent trousers.

This marbled print looks so striking.

Style Notes: A while ago, matching jewellery was largely considered to be a bit of a fashion faux pas, but not any more. Worn with simpler party outfits, matching earrings and necklaces can give a look all the impact it needs to shine. Plus, if it’s good enough for Jennifer Lopez…

Even Astrid & Miyu is embracing the matchy-matchy jewellery trend.

Tennis necklaces will never go out of style.

There’s nothing like pearls to keep things classic.

A stunning case in point.

Style Notes: If 2023’s party season can be summed up in a word, it’s absolutely “rhinestone.” Tiny crystals are adorning everything from dresses to suits to shoes and bags. Who needs the Kira Kira app when your outfit already brings the sparkle? Certainly not Tracee Ellis Ross.

This incredible suit keeps cropping up on my Instagram feed.

This will look incredible on its own or styled underneath an oversized blazer.

If you live in jeans, why not try a party-ready pair? Just add a white vest top and strappy sandals.

Style Notes: If sparkles just aren’t you’re thing but you still want to embrace the party spirit, might I suggest a silky slip complete with a low back, akin to Victoria Beckham’s latest look?

The perfect party dress for minimalists.

I adore a hint of print.

Nothing says party quite like a satin dress.
