Marc Maron’s ‘Barbie’ Defense Makes No Sense

Marc Maron defends the woke mind virus as if he’s getting paid to do so.

Over and again the far-left host of “WTF with Marc Maron” attacks anyone critical of the toxic, anti-free speech movement.

He assailed director Todd Phillips in 2019 when the mind behind “Joker” said he stopped directing comedies due to the new, restrictive rules surrounding comedy.

“There’s plenty of people being funny right now. Not only being funny but being really f—ing funny,” Maron said. There are still lines to be crossed and envelopes to be pushed, he continued, but “really, the only thing that’s off the table culturally at this juncture, and not even entirely, is shamelessly punching down for the sheer joy of hurting people. For the sheer excitement and laughter that some people get from causing people pain, for making people uncomfortable, for making people feel excluded.”

The sound you hear is George Carlin spinning in his grave.

Later, Maron described comedians who decry the woke handcuffs placed upon them as “hacks” and “fascists.”

Someone needs a dictionary. Stat.

Now, Maron is dubbing the uber-woke “Barbie” movie a “masterpiece.” And he isn’t stopping there. Here’s what else he said via his TikTok account.

“And the comedy about men is inspired and the fact that certain men took offense to the point where they, you know, tried to build a grift around it in terms of their narrative as right-wing *** is so embarrassing for them,” he added.

“I mean, so embarrassing for them. Any dude that can’t take those hits in that movie, they’ve really got to look in their pants and decide what they’re made of. I mean, Jesus Christ, what a bunch of f***ing insecure babies.”

Sounds like sober criticism of the film triggered Maron. Badly.

“Barbie” features a TED talk mid-movie so clunky even Hannah Gadsby wouldn’t share on stage. The screenplay mentions the word “Patriarchy” 10 times, if not more.

QUICK SPOILER

The film routinely denigrates men in the first half of the film and continues to do so through the end, passing up a golden opportunity to embrace equality in the process.

END OF SPOILER

No one is calling for the film to be canceled, either. Some critics are … criticizing the movie.

Meanwhile, the woke mob routinely tries to cancel both art and artists. Maron doesn’t have a problem with that. Could it be that the comic’s older material is so anti-woke, so problematic he fears it will resurface and get him canceled?
