If you don’t have a Givenchy perfume in your collection, where have you been? Since launching its first fragrance in 1957 after a rumored impactful encounter between the bran’s founder, Hubert de Givenchy, and award-winning actress Audrey Hepburn, the brand now offers a selection of over 30 masculine and feminine eau de parfums, eau de toilettes, body lotions, shower gels, and hair mists (their L’Interdit shower oil has been on my wishlist for way too long). While I will forever be a fan of their best-selling perfume, Irresistible, I’ve taken it upon myself to try as many Givenchy fragrances as I can and determine which ones are just as good (or better) than the cult-classic.
Keep reading to see which Givenchy perfumes should make it all the way from your shopping cart to your vanity.
Key notes: Orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, vetiver, and patchouli. An homage to the original L’Interdit fragrance that launched in 1957, this charming scent smells both floral and woodsy. It’s the perfect day-to-night fragrance for a girl on the go.
Key notes: Mirabelle, jasmine, rose, and sandalwood. I would be lying if I told you this eau de parfum hasn’t landed itself in my top three floral woody fragrances from Givenchy. Dahlia Divin offers a timeless approach to florals: combining the sweet top notes of mirabelle, jasmine, and rose with cozy sandalwood.
Key notes: Gardenia, neroli, tonka bean, and ylang-ylang. Amarige is Givenchy’s ultimate timeless floral. It boasts a cheerful and light blend of soft florals and spicy neroli; grounded by warm tonka bean and a dash of ylang-ylang.
Key notes: Sparkling pear, ambrette, rose, blond wood, and musk. Introducing Givenchy’s most iconic perfume: Irresistible. The captivating eau de parfum balances light florals with warm woody notes; resulting in an unforgettable olfactory experience.
Key notes: Honeysuckle, gardenia, peony, vanilla, and nutmeg. Composed of powdery white flowers and cozy vanilla, Organza smells exactly what I’d imagine a romantic, midsummer night in Tuscany to smell like. I love layering this one on the classic L’Interdit eau de parfum to add even more depth.
Key notes: Tuberose, jasmine, Sicilian blood rose, Tunisian orange blossom, and sandalwood. If you liked L’Interdit, then you’ll be obsessed in with Givenchy’s L’interdit Rouge. Spicy and sensual, this eau de parfume was created as a tribute the brand’s iconic red color. It also happens to come in a chic perfume bottle; featuring an eyecatching 4g logo.
Key notes: Rose essential, pink peppercorn, iris, sandalwood, and patchouli. This one is for anyone who loves Givenchy’s original Irresistible scent, but craves more floral notes in their fragrance of choice. Givenchy has created a version of their bestselling Irresistible Eau de Parfum that offers notes of velvety rose enveloped in white patchouli, iris, and pink peppercorn.
Key notes: Jasmine, peony, water flowers, cranberry, and blond wood. Ange ou Démon is altogether fruity, sensual, and mysterious. With refreshing notes of lemon and cranberry combined with light florals and cozy woods, this is one fragrance you’ll keep coming back to time and time again.
Key notes: Orange blossom, tuberose, leathered-vanilla, sesame, and patchouli. This eau de parfum smells like the perfect worn-in, sexy leather coat that you’ll never part with. It’s my pick for the best Givenchy night scent since it’s crafted from such an amazing mix of spicy and sweet notes.
