I Tried On So Many Low-Key Trendy Fall Pieces From Mango—I Loved These 10

Welcome to The Great Try-On. We’re gearing up for fall, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best fall pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for fall wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you’ll wear over and over this season and beyond.

While I’m often adding Mango pieces to my wardrobe and always have its items on my wish list at any given time, I can only recall ever stepping foot in a Mango store once in my life, believe it or not. Truth be told, I can count on one hand the number of fitting rooms I’ve gone into over the past year. That’s the beauty of online shopping, folks. I don’t even live in a city that’s anywhere near a Mango store anymore, so my fitting room is my house.

Something I hear from people time and again is that they prefer to shop in stores because they “have to see it,” referring to an item they’re interested in before buying it. I get it, but it’s not always possible or convenient, and I choose not to limit myself to only the brands that are available at brick-and-mortar stores in my city. I’m here to offer you the next best thing to “seeing it.” I chose a slew of new fall items to try on from Mango and documented it all along the way.

Scroll to see what my favorite items actually look like on (for reference, I’m 5’4″) and read my honest reviews. And of course, I’ve linked them below so you can order them, too, if I’ve done a good job of convincing you.

My review: This is one of those items that don’t really live up to their full potential until you put them on, as it just molds to you (without being clingy). The fabric isn’t very thick, but if you add a long coat and boots, you’ll have a very chic fall outfit.

My review: If you like sweaters that are warm without being bulky, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s trendy but not over-the-top and isn’t itchy in the least. I imagine I’d throw this on with jeans often.

My review: This suit is epic. I loved that the fit of each piece was nice, modern, and relaxed, and it didn’t give off banker vibes in the least. I paired it with sneakers, but it might be even better with heels since I’m on the short side. That said, I didn’t hate the puddle-pant look. If I were just going to buy one piece, it would be the vest, but there’s no denying that the full suit is perfection.

My review: At $100, this jacket has great price-per-wear potential, as I think it would get a ton of use. It would work on its own as a shirt or as a light fall jacket. If you want a great on-trend outfit idea, pair this with a white tank top and long denim skirt.

My review: This skirt comes in several different washes, but I wanted to try the black, as it’s the most versatile. I found this length to be a lot easier to wear than the maxi-length denim skirts I’ve seen a lot of this season. It’s high waisted, so I plan on wearing it with cropped sweaters this fall.

My review: Nice trench coats can be very expensive, so I jumped at the chance to try this more accessibly priced one. I loved the oversize fit since you could easily fit a sweater or even a blazer under it. It’s the perfect thing to pack for fall trips.

My review: Mango has so many good pink sweaters right now that I couldn’t decide on just one. I loved this one for its classic-with-a-twist vibe. And like the other pink sweater I tried, it’s cozy without being bulky. The boxy shape of it is just right.

My review: After seeing the plethora of leather bomber jackets among all of the recent fashion-week street style images, this was one of my top Mango picks of the season. I’m obsessed with the distressed look of the jacket, which made it look even cooler and more expensive. So many excellent fall outfits would start with this trendy-yet-classic piece.

I can’t get over how perfect and affordable this is.

I plan on telling everyone I know to order this bag.

I’m actively looking for an occasion to buy this for.

As cozy as they come.

This looks like a designer investment piece.

These are just the thing to wear with the dress I tried on for this story.
