J.Lo and Anne Hathaway Wore the Same Comfy-Cool Dress Trend This Weekend

Celebrities have a tendency to wear things that feel, well, unapproachable. Bras as tops, lingerie as dresses, and sky-high platforms aren’t exactly easy to wear, and that’s before you get into the cost of it all. Then again, sometimes they surprise us—and this is one of those times.

Over the long weekend, not one but two members of the A-list were spotted wearing the most uncomplicated and accessible dress styles of all: the white cotton dress. In Los Angeles on Sunday, newlyweds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck spent the day at the annual Malibu Chilli Cook-Off, where the 53-year-old actress and singer wore a billowy, maxi-length frock from Forte Forte that she paired with red Gucci x Adidas slides and her go-to Dior tote bag. That same day at the Telluride Film Festival, Anne Hathaway debuted a similarly low-key white dress for a screening of her new film Armageddon Time. With the dress, a puff-sleeve style from La Ligne, Hathaway accessorized with black ankle boots and a brown straw hat.

Of course, when the cornerstone of your look is a blank canvas, there’s really no end to the outfit possibilities. But you can’t exactly go wrong if you take styling cues from J.Lo or Hathaway (she did play the assistant to Miranda Priestly after all). Get started by shopping all the white cotton dresses below.

On Jennifer Lopez: Forte Forte Long Dress ($775); Gucci x Adidas GG Platform Sandals ($620); Jennifer Fisher 3″” Thread Gold-Plated Hoop Earrings ($180); Dior bag

On Anne Hathaway: La Ligne Twist-Front Cotton-Poplin Midi Dress ($395)
