If You Love Urban Outfitters, Bookmark These Other Stores

Well before Y2K fashion made its comeback, Philly-based retailer Urban Outfitters had its eye on the decade. We’ve always turned to the ahead-of-the-game retailer for cool collaborations with brands like Miaou and Champion and for really, really good vintage denim.

We continue to rely on UO year-round for slightly-trendy basics and standout pieces alike, and we’re always on the lookout for similar stores offering throwback pieces we can mix and match with our tried-and-true favorites. We’re talking stores like Reformation (those slip dresses!), trendy brands like Mango (for runway-inspired pieces we can actually afford), and British imports like ASOS (another retailer doing early aughts style very, very well). Keep reading to discover 10 stores to shop if you love Urban Outfitters.

Though you may need patience flipping through the epic selection of products from ASOS, you’ll find everything from a wedding-guest dress to a vacation-ready high-waisted bikini. The retailer is also pretty quick with the trends, including those more under the radar, so it’s an excellent source for trendy pieces that haven’t yet hit the mainstream. But above all, its price points won’t drain your bank account—you could secure a whole wardrobe refresh for under $200.

Chances are you’ve already seen Tiger Mist scrolling through your feed. Based in Australia, you can find all the popping IG trends—specifically going-out tops and cut-out dresses—at the shop. Another highlight is its selection of cute two-piece sets, in a selection of fun prints and patterns.

Strictly online, Rumours is one of the newest e-commerce shops to gain a following among the fashion set. Similar to Urban Outfitters it carries a mix of styles from pretty Y2K dresses to grunge-core tops. Everything is pretty moderately priced too, which is good news because pretty sure you’ll want to buy everything in stock.

Dresses from Reformation are a no-brainer—the designer’s mini, midi, and maxi options will take you through the morning, noon, and night with little fuss. But aside from its pretty dresses, there’s a case for Reformation’s quality denim. The fit rivals some of the best denim brands on the market, with a variety of washes.

If you haven’t yet heard of Storets, it’s time to know now. It has a slightly more high fashion vibe than Urban Outfitters, but it’s a trendy vibe all the same. Cool outerwear and knit separates reign supreme here, and the store is a go-to for fashion insiders.

This one doesn’t need much of an introduction. Stocking all the best ’90s and more brands, Revolve is the marketplace for cool designers you might be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. It should be on the shortlist if the goal is compliment-inducing party outfits—from seductive tops to dresses, anything from Revolve is bound to grab someone’s attention.

All the quirky girls love Lisa Says Gah. Carrying brands like Paloma Wool and Ganni, the store features an eclectic mix of indie brands and mainstream designers that are rarely found anywhere else. Yet, Lisa Says Gah also has an in-house collection that’s just as worthy of your attention. Fans particularly love its array of bold and unique prints.

Often overlooked, this affordable fashion retailer is the place we go when we want to shop for everything from floral midi skirts to cropped tees. And truth be told, & Other Stories has awesome shoes and accessories too. Maybe it’s the hint of French girl chic, or elevated trend-forward pieces, but it’s a continual name on editors’ lists.

Nordstrom has always been a favorite, but it’s the retailer’s in-house brand Open Edit that’s worth another look. With a size-inclusive lineup, it has practically built the foundation of our everyday wardrobes with a wallet-friendly price point. And of course, the collections have its finger on the pulse of what’s new and evolving within fashion circles.

More elevated than the rest, Mango is the place to go to find your trendy favorites with a grown-up twist. Don’t forget to browse through its selection of accessories—which is arguably some of the best affordable dupes for designer pieces.
