I Don’t Like Fussy Fashion—These Trendy Staples Are Actually Easy to Wear

Easy and relaxed are two words I use to describe my style. In my day-to-day life, I steer clear of fussy outfits and gravitate toward looks that are simple yet still stylish and chic. There are actually a few key staples that I’ve been turning to on repeat when I’m creating some of the looks in question.

The items are versatile and can easily mix and match with a ton of other pieces and are also actually quite trend-forward thanks to their modern silhouettes and design details. As a preview, I’m referring to items like my new tried-and-true favorite: the lightweight, oversize shirt.

I just really can’t get enough of oversize button-down shirts. That ideal silhouette feels classic yet very of the moment. A shirtdress is also cool to wear as is or layered with a tee and jeans.

Cutouts continue to reign supreme, and I always recommend a cutout dress (typically in black) when my friends want something easy yet impossibly chic that they can throw on for various events. It’s like the updated LBD.

In the denim-and-trouser realm, the more relaxed, the better in my book. The jeans and pants I’ve been buying get looser and looser for an effortless vibe.

In the same vein as the oversize shirt above comes the cool denim or chambray shirt in, you guessed it, a relaxed silhouette. I’ve been very into the denim-on-denim vibes recently.

The fashion crowd can’t get enough of miniskirts this season. The look is certainly forward but quite easy to style. Slip into your favorite style, add your go-to knit or shirt, and you’re set.
