Jessie Inchauspé is the brilliant biochemist, best-selling author, and creator of the popular Instagram account Glucose Goddess. And indeed, Inchauspé has become the goddess of glucose. With over half a million followers on Instagram, Inchauspé has created a movement to help people reconnect with their bodies by communicating and educating them about a hyper-specific aspect of science with her audience: glucose monitoring.
In 2019, she started her account to share the impact blood sugar levels have on overall health, including our mood, sleep, energy, and even skin. Her account serves as a tool for navigating glucose health through her approachable voice and bright-colored graphics that break down scientific studies in an incredibly digestible way. In just a few years, Inchauspé has made the importance of glucose health more mainstream through her practical hacks for living your best life. Her first book, the best-selling Glucose Revolution, was just released in April and has been translated into 25 languages and counting.
Before Inchauspé started a health revolution, she actually began her career in Silicon Valley after receiving her master’s degree in biochemistry. There, she worked with the personal genomics and biotechnology company 23 and Me, where she became a senior product manager, spearheaded a team in charge of engagement, data collection, and actionability and significantly grew research participation. Through her first career, she discovered her passion for the world of glucose and her vocation to help others take control of their overall health. Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to hear how Inchauspé’s first career path unexpectedly prepared her to found Glucose Goddess and empower the masses to make small changes with great impact.
