I Live in NYC—These Are the 5 Items I’ll Be Wearing for the Next Five Months

Living in the fashion capital of America is the best thing for a fashion girl like me. But being a New York City–based fashion editor means that not only am I always looking at different trends and for new brands around me to share with my readers, but I’m also always looking to up my personal style game.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, this is my time to shine. I love warm-weather fashion and plan to take full advantage of spring and summer to wear some of my best looks. There are five items that I really have my eyes on. Corset/bustier tops, all of the denim you can think of, midi dresses (of course), racerback tank tops and bodysuits, and Western-inspired fashion. I have been glued to my laptop shopping for all five of these trends, and luckily for you, I’m showing the best picks I could find.

I am absolutely obsessed with the corset/bustier top trend and sincerely hope it sticks with us for a while. These tops have become my go-to for a night out, they are also figure flattering. You can choose from more romantic, dainty, Bridgerton-esque style tops to edgier, leather corsets. You can style them with low-rise denim for daytime or a miniskirt for the evening. I can’t say how much I love this trend enough.

This white corset is the perfect basic.

I love the lace up detail on this top.

Love the neckline.

The exposed stitching on this bodysuit-style top is what makes me love this pick. Under $40 too? Ordering immediately.

Just cool.

Saw this bustier top all over TikTok, so I think I need it.

A top to add to the “going-out tops” pile.

This Staud denim corset has stolen my heart, I need it.

A classic satin corset.

Such a flattering cut on this corset.

If you know me, you know I’m a denim girl. Jeans, cut-off shorts, denim skirts, denim dresses, you name it, I’ve worn it. As a former California girl I really cannot let go of my jeans, I wear them all the time and get overly excited when I can get a new pair. Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite denim.

Really excited about tube-tops this spring and summer.

Big jumpsuit fan over here.

Yes to the wider leg.

Style with a racer back tank and sneakers for a casual look.

Midi dress season is here, FINALLY! Last spring and summer I wore midi dresses on the daily. They’re my favorite thing to wear to the farmers market, running errands, or meeting someone for a lunch date during the day. Let me share a secret with you, wearing a midi dress is basically like wearing a glorified night-gown. They’re so pretty to look at and even more comfortable than sweats in my opinion. I have so many already, and yes I’ll be ordering more.

The type of dress I can’t wait to wear on a dinner date.

This white midi dress is such a simple yet fashionable look, I want it in every color.

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.

A great date night look.

More dresses with pockets, please.

Love how romantic this lace midi dress is.

A throw on, wear-everywhere dress.

How sweet is this floral dress?

This dress is coming with me on my next vacation.

The most model-off-duty top of all of the model-off-duty tops. The racerback tank is the epitome of effortless cool fashion. You can wear them out at night, running around during the day, and even when you’re just hanging out at home. Style with leather pants, loose fitting denim, a mini or midi skirt, the options are endless. What’s even better is that this trend is so easy to participate in, since so many inexpensive options are available.

Love a good under $20 pick.

This bodysuit is so high quality, you’re not going to want to take it off.

A tank I would wear with a cardigan on top.

A top you can wear with leather pants and heeled boots for a night out.

A closet staple.

The perfect cropped tank for running errands or hanging out at home.

Love how this is styled with a western belt and jeans.

The most comfortable tank.

A super high quality ribbed tank, you won’t regret buying.

Love the cut on this tank.

Oh yes, western style has been making a comeback these last few years and I’m not mad about it. I love a good cowgirl hat, a good pair of western boots, and I can even get on board with (some) turquoise jewelry. I plan to embrace this trend wholeheartedly, I mean I already have a pair of printed pants with horses on them, yes I know what that sounds like but trust me they’re cool.

I love these two toned cowboy boots, they’re so chic.

A good western top is a must.

Vests are everywhere this spring.

I love a good rancher hat, trust me I have so many. This Brixton hat is definitely on my list.

Not all western boots are the traditional cowboy boot, these Jeffrey Campbell ones are so fun and on trend.

BRB, packing this hat for my next beach vacation.

These boots come in so many color ways and I want them all.

Huge fan of western belts over here.

I think I need these to add to my cowboy boots collection.
