Aspiring Atlanta rapper Big Bhris has been arrested and charged for shooting a police officer 6 times.
Real name Christian Eppinger, 22, Big Bhris faces attempted murder and street gang activity charges in relation to the shooting on Monday.
Officer David Rodgers was attempting to take the rapper into custody on an armed robbery warrant from 2021. Bhris responded by firing four bullets to the shoulder, one to the knee and another in the side of his head. The officer taken to the Emergency Room at Grady Hospital in serious condition.
A judge denied him bond both on the charges related to the officer’s shooting and on the original armed robbery charges. The judge ruled that he is a flight risk and a danger to the community.
According to 11 Alive, Big Bhris is a member of the Young Slim Life which is known for “ruthless pedestrian and home invasion style robberies” as well as “drive-by shootings resulting in death and serious injury.” Members are also “known to sell and possess illegal narcotics ranging from marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and liquid promethazine/codeine cough syrup.”
