Tiger King star Joe Exotic has won an appeal to receive a shorter sentence. He will be resentenced on January 28th.
U.S. District Judge Scott Palk will resentence the viral star at 10 a.m. and granted his request to be transported to Oklahoma City for the hearing.
Exotic was sentenced in January 2020 to 22 years in prison for allegedly hiring somebody to kill Carol Baskin. But the appeals court said the court should have calculated his advisory sentencing range between 17 1/2 years and just under 22 years in prison instead of 22 years and 27 years in prison.
Exotic has always claimed he is innocent. When Trump was in office, he tried to have his sentence commuted but Trump did not grant his request.
I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump,” he wrote. “I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post.”
