Travis Scott took to social media to personally address the deaths at his recent Astroworld Festival.
Eight people died and dozens of people were injured during a crowd surge. He is already facing multiple lawsuits.
“I’m honestly just devastated. We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them through this tough time,” said Scott. He said he had no idea what was happening in the crowd.
“Any time I could make out, you know, anything that’s going on, you know, I just stopped my show and, you know, helped them get the help they need,” he said.
He also released a statement on Twitter.
“I am absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival,” he wrote. “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for the immediate response and support. Love You All.”
