MLB Star Yasiel Puig Settles Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has settled his sexual assault lawsuit.

Puig was sued for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and false imprisonment last October for an alleged incident that took place at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 2018.

The Jane Doe in the lawsuit claimed Puig tried to take off her clothes and touch her sexual organs in the bathroom at a Lakers game. He then allegedly exposed himself and started masturbating. Puig claimed it was consensual.

Puig alleged that he wanted it to play out in court but a trial would not have happened until at least May 2022 and he wants to return to the league next season.

“I learned so much this past year. I learned about how the world can be very cruel and how it can put you in positions you never thought you can be in. I wanted so much to show the world my truth, but the battle was filled with red tape, and legalities and time – so much time,” he wrote on Instagram.
