Pooh Shiesty is planning to accept a plea deal in his federal robbery case.
Shiesty told the judge he wanted to change his “plea from not guilty to guilty.” The charges stem from a October 2020 incident in which they, where he and his co-defendants allegedly shot and robbed two men outside a Miami hotel.
“We’ve entered into plea negotiations because there have been developments in the case that I think changed the dynamics of the case,” defense lawyer Bradford Cohen told Rolling Stone.
Shiesty and his co-defendants were indicted on charges of conspiracy, discharging a firearm during a violent crime, and robbery under a law regulating commerce.
His trial is set to begin on October 25th. Prosecutors say Shiesty and two members of his crew allegedly shot and robbed two individuals from whom they were buying marijuana and sneakers and fled the scene. They reportedly used semi-automatic weapons.
The Miami Herald reported that federal authorities found a Louis Vuitton bag that contained more than $40,000 in cash at the scene.
