Donald Trump was kicked off Twitter for inciting the Jan. 6 riots at Capitol Hill but he wants a judge to force Twitter to allow him to return.
“Plaintiff Donald J. Trump respectfully moves for a preliminary injunction directing, inter alia, Defendant Twitter, Inc. and all persons acting in concert with Defendant, to reinstate Plaintiff’s access to Defendant’s social media platform(s),” the filing reads.
Trump accuses Twitter of “censoring” him by indefinitely banning him and that the company “exercises a degree of power and control over political discourse in this country that is immeasurable, historically unprecedented, and profoundly dangerous to open democratic debate.”
JEEZY ON DONALD TRUMP
Twitter founder Jack Dorsey said at the time that the unprecedented move was dangerous but added, “We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.”
