I’m Obsessed With This French-Girl Staple—These Are My Favorite Under $100

French women and classic style go hand in hand, and if you’re a regular WWW reader, you’ll know just how often we turning to our French fashion friends for inspiration. Well, surprise, surprise—we’re back once again to tap into their style, this time focusing on their affinity for a good cardigan and, of course, share our favorites on the market right now.

Versatile, chic, and easy to wear, we’re pretty certain they’ve graduated from being a trend to a legitimate wardrobe staple. I, for one, can’t stop shopping for them and since fall is top of mind, I figured now is as good a time as ever to drop a fresh batch of outfit ideas from my favorite cardigan-wearing French women. Ahead, you’ll find a number of fresh ways to wear the staple knit (with jeans and skirts alike) and peruse all the affordable cardigans currently in my cart.

Give your knit a ’90s spin when you wear it with a miniskirt and shoulder bag.

For Love and Lemons just keeps on designing hit after hit.

Cable knit is set to be a major fall trend. This is such an easy way to wear it.

A cropped cardigan with high-rise denim is the pairing French women always go back to because it just works.

You can’t go wrong with a classic long-sleeve cropped cardi.

Just add ankle boots.

Depending on the season, swap in different shoes and accessories.

Puff-sleeve cardigans have been gaining steam recently, and I love how they look buttoned-up as a shirt.

So much better than your basic tees.

Column skirts are on the rise for fall and clearly cropped cardigans play well with them.

All-gray outfits are on the rise for fall, and this would work so well in any of them.

Say what you will about three-quarter sleeves, but I think they may be heading for a comeback.

The pointelle stitching adds something so charming.

These sleeves, though.

For that summer-to-fall transition.

Take a cue from Aïda’s outfit above and tuck in a chunkier knit to a pair of high-waisted jeans.

This on works perfectly for the above combo.

Love the extra buttons here.

Instead of wearing it button-up, try throwing it on open over a tank.

A classic.

Animal print adds something different.

One more cropped cardigan and jeans formula because it just doesn’t get any more classic than this.

Designed in partnership with fashion girl Kellie Brown, so you know it has to be good.

This will earn so many compliments.

I happen to think the matching knit skirt is necessary, not optional.

I’m obsessed with anything in this pale yellow color.

The contrast color on the collar really elevates this one.

In one word? Cozy.
