We Haven’t Worn These Fall Trends in a Few Years—We’re Revisiting Them in 2021

We’re very much enjoying summer, but fall is definitely also on our minds—sartorially speaking, anyway. The new collections and forthcoming trends are nothing short of inspiring. In fact, we recently highlighted a few of the pieces we can’t wait to test out in the coming months. Sure, the fresh trends are exciting, but there are other key fall trends that we wore a few seasons ago that we’re also interested in re-visiting this year.

The trends we’re referring to here have never really gone “out.” The items are simply pieces that haven’t been front-runners recently for us. But remember, this is all just our own opinion. Style is extremely personal, and you should always wear whatever you love and what speaks to you.

With all that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the fall trends some of the members of our team are ready to break out again in 2021. You know, to perhaps inspire your fall wardrobe.

“Flat mules have been off my radar for a while now, but there are so many new pairs for fall that I can’t help but want to buy. I guess we’re back on!”

“There was that one point in time around ’08 when platform heels were everywhere, but they were not flattering at all, which is why I’ve found the newer re-renditions of this shoe both intriguing and enticing. Its more polished form seen on the S/S21 and F/W21 runways (i.e. Tom Ford or Versace) makes me want to give platform heels a run. Will I regret it? Only time will tell, but for now, I’m here for it.”

“I don’t wear a lot of red but I’m trying to wear more color in general lately, and I think that it looks so pretty and striking in the fall. Plus, basically, all I wear in the fall is denim and I love the way it looks with red.”

“I retired sock boots several years ago when I noticed the style starting to die down and I’ve favored more classic ankle boots ever since. But with the news of Phoebe Philo returning to the fashion world again, it has me thinking about the clingy sock boots Philo designed for Celine so I’m on the lookout for similar styles to reintroduce to my closet this fall.”

“It’s been a while since I’ve ventured out in statement leopard print, but after seeing it all over the F/W21 runways—on everything from coats to dresses and sweaters—I’m excited to integrate the bold print into my fall ensembles again.”

“I used to live in utility jackets during the fall months. I’m excited to reach for the layering piece again this season as an alternate to my denim jacket.”
