Warren Moon has revealed that during his time playing for the NFL, he had several gay teammates.
Days ago, Carl Nassib of the Las Vegas Raiders became the first openly gay player in NFL history.
“What’s up people, I’m Carl Nassib, I’m at my house here in Westchester, Pennsylvania. I just want to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay,” he said on Instagram.
Moon says there are many gay players in the NFL. Carl is just the first to go public.
“We live in a different time now where diversity is much more accepted. Cheers Carl, and I hope this lets other athletes know, its OK to say who you are,” Moon tweeted.
He added, “Really proud of Carl Nassib. The first active football player to ever do so. I played with several guys who never were comfortable enough to go public. They were great teammates, & obviously very talented.
Some are expecting more NFL players to come out following the positive way Carl Nassib was received.
