Rapper Silento will remain behind bars after a judge denied him bail — and his grandparents helped it happen.
According to TMZ, Silento’s mental health issues and history of not taking his prescribed meds made him a risk to the community. His grandparents reportedly pleaded with the judge not to grant their grandson a bond.
Last month, the rapper filed legal docs in Georgia requesting the court set his bond at $25,000.
He asks for the bond because he says he’s “not an extraordinary bail risk and will not jeopardize the safety of the community if released on bail,” and that he will not go missing.
The “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper was arrested in February for the murder of his 34-year-old cousin Frederick Rooks.
After Silento’s arrest, his publicist Chanel Hudson claimed the rapper suffered from mental health issues.
“Please send my client Silento some positive vibrations. Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental illnesses. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!”
