Trust Me—Buy These 18 Things

Trust Me—Buy This is a monthly series where our market editor Nicole Eshaghpour makes her favorite real-life fashion finds shoppable for Who What Wear readers.

Hello and welcome back to my monthly Trust Me—Buy This roundup! In case you’re new here or forgot what this is all about, I’ll be sharing my go-to items of the moment with more of a personal spin than your usual fashion story. With a little help from my shopping-focused Instagram account, @trustmebuythis, where I post my own (mediocre) snaps of items I’m into, I get to both show and tell you what I’m really wearing every month. These special selects are the pieces I’ve been loving not only online but also IRL.

Today, you can expect a mix of spring- and summer-ready finds as we start to close the chapter on the former season and welcome the latter. From basics like tees, shorts, and jeans to light layers and sandals you’ll want to complete all your outfits with, below are 18 pieces that are just bound to become your favorites. To see and shop everything that made the cut this time around, keep scrolling.

On most days, this is what you’ll find me in: a T-shirt, jeans, and sandals. I actually recently purchased everything in this photo, and I’ve been living in the pieces. The tee is so easy (I have it in both black and white), the jeans are my ideal cut and wash for summer, and the Birkenstocks were a summer-ready upgrade from the fuzzy pair I wore all of winter and early spring.

I’m obsessed with this “shacket,” and even though it’s on the heavier side, I know it will come in handy on those chillier summer nights. While this exact color is sold out, there are literally dozens of other options to chose from.

I bought these sandals over a year ago just as quarantine began, so while they didn’t get much use initially, I have already made up for it this season. They’re the perfect heel height for day to night and are so comfortable.

I’ve been very into “third pieces” lately, and this oversize cardigan by Lauren Manoogian is one of my favorite cozy yet polished options. While this exact style is sold out, the brand is a trove of laid-back, luxe finds.

I don’t buy It bags often, but when I do, I hope that they’ll stick with me for years and years to come. I have a good feeling about this classic little Gucci one.

It’s rare that I’m in a top that’s not a T-shirt, but this flattering and breezy ruched shirt from Nanushka just really spoke to me!

Please invite me to your parties so I can wear this outfit somewhere other than my own dining room! But really, this tank by The Line by K and skirt by Jacquemus are actually so versatile. They both look as good dressed up as they do dressed down with casual shoes and other basics, and I plan to wear them a lot this summer both separately and together.

I’ve been living in this soft little shirt lately, wearing it with everything from denim shorts to trousers instead of real jackets. This neutral clutch from Altuzarra has also been so useful for me on days when I go out with my son because I can just throw my essentials in it and drop it in his diaper bag or stroller.

The perfect pair of denim shorts exists, and you’re looking at it! They’re not too long, not too short, not too tight, not too loose, and I truly cannot stop wearing them. These Who What Wear sandals are sadly no longer available, but a new, more delicate pair just came out that I think will do the trick if you’re looking for comfortable, casual summer shoes.

Judging by the fact that my mom still has and wears pairs she bought upwards of 20 years ago, I really think of Manolo Blahnik shoes as more of an investment than a splurge. I especially love these simple and flattering mules because, other than winter (in NYC at least), you can really wear them in any season.

I lived in this outfit combo in late winter and early spring, and while I might have to swap the black pants for flowy trousers or shorts as the temperatures rise, I plan on continuing with my excessive use of this lightweight corduroy shirt and these snake-print slingbacks for a while.

I know jacket season is really over, but since this was somehow still in stock, I thought I would implore you to buy it anyway and save it for fall. The season will be here sooner than you know, and you don’t want to be without this quilted number.
