Public Enemy star Chuck D says he’s ready to squash his beef with Flavor Flav after firing him from the group.
Last year in March, Chuck D fired Flava Flav from the group. Flavor claimed the “firing” was over a dispute over Public Enemy’s appearance at a political rally supporting Bernie Sanders. Chuck D said it had nothing to do with the rally.
During the unveiling of the Hip Hop museum, TMZ asked Chuck a Public Enemy was on the way. He responded and said, “the ball is in Flavor Flav’s court, and it’s up to him.”
A year ago, during an interview with Talib Kweli, Chuck D said it was all a pr stunt to get people’s attention.
“Flavor don’t know the difference between Bernie Sanders, Barry Sanders or Colonel Sanders,” Chuck said, adding, “We already talked about this beforehand. Public Enemy Radio went up, his lawyer sent a cease and desist, I’m like, ‘Good move.’ Then, publicly, I’m like, ‘Man, you don’t sue me again.’ He ain’t suing me. But I can say it!”
“I’m not saying it’s a hoax. I’m saying the original intention was to get your attention,” Chuck D continued.
