I Asked My 4 Favorite Fashion People What They’re Shopping This Month

Spring is in full force, and I’m more excited than ever because it means I can finally peel out of my sweat set and actually get dressed up for the occasions I have booked in my calendar. First up, this year marks my third Mother’s Day, and I’m running out of ideas for my own wishlist along with what to buy the special women in my life. Last month, I tapped my style crew for tips on refreshing a wardrobe for spring, so naturally, I’m turning to the same team to help me pick the best outfits for spring outings.

Whether you’re lucky enough to get together this year for Mother’s Day or you have a virtual lunch set up, we’ve narrowed down some of the best pieces on the internet from Macy’s. Not only is my own list now full, but I also gained some nuggets of inspo for the perfect gift for my mom.

Natalie Cantell, our New Yorker by way of New Zealand, is a fiend for stylish monochrome homewares and loves to gift accordingly. She tells me she’s been living with her fiancé’s parents in California since last year, so she’s excited to actually be around family on Mother’s Day for once. “We’ll make crepes together in the morning and set the table to eat outside, then the afternoon will mean juggling the time differences to have a video chat with my mum in New Zealand and Jake’s sister in Australia—BYO drink that’s appropriate for whatever time of day it is in your respective time zone!” she says.

This dress can be worn so many different ways I basically lost count.

Anna Dominguez, who always tells me how much her mom has inspired her shopping choices, is doing something a little different this year. “Usually my mom and I spend Mother’s Day together, but we won’t be in the same city this year. We’ll definitely be planning a mother-daughter shopping day to celebrate even if it is a few weeks later,” she tells me. In the meantime, let’s add all of her picks to our carts ASAP.

Whenever I’m feeling a little like I’ve added one too many neutrals to my shopping cart, I turn to Keyma Morgan to snap me back to a colorful wardrobe. The new mom told me that for Mother’s Day, she’s having a virtual celebration this year. “I love gifting my mom, and moms prefer home items over other gifts. They tend to rave about them,” she says. I have my eye on the vase for my mother-in-law—it will look beautiful with colorful flowers on a coffee table.

This year we plan to spend the day at home around the pool grilling and then catching the sunset at the beach near our house,” she explains.

Housedresses are never going away, so Floyd recommends having one for a virtual or in-person get-together.
