8 Trends That Will Infiltrate Every Stylish Home This Year

Ask any fashion girl with a stylish home where she loves to shop for décor, and there’s a very good chance that one of the places she lists off is CB2. It’s a one-stop-shop for well-made modern pieces that are trendy without trying too hard. I, for one, used many CB2 pieces when furnishing my house, and am very happy with all of them. I consider them to be a trusted source for trend predictions, so the 2021 trend report that they just released was of considerable interest to me.

Sure enough, the report touched on several trends that have been bubbling and will only go up in popularity this year. There are also some fresh trends that are a result of the pandemic and our months stuck indoors. All in all, it’s very interesting and I look forward to seeing these trends all over my feed very soon.

Keep scrolling to read all about (and shop) the 8 trends CB2 says will be everywhere this year.

CB2 says that 62% of interior designers are planning on incorporating bold pieces into their designs this year. Be on the lookout for extra-large décor and sculptural pieces.

As the CB2 trend report puts it, “Accent chairs will be huge this year.” They recommend multiple seating vignettes to change things up while you’re working from home or relaxing.

According to the interior designers CB2 polled, uplifting mineral-inspired colors will be everywhere this year. If you have neutrals fatigue, now is the time to change things up.

Natural materials like stone and cast metal will be everywhere this year, as the organic look gains in popularity. Carrara marble is still very much in, but think beyond that, with concrete, terracotta, and especially black travertine (according to CB2).

Velvet is a fashion trend that circles back every few years, so it’s no surprise that this applies to home décor as well. The cozy trend is just what we need during these strange and uncertain times. As CB2 lead product developer Andrea Erman puts it, “It’s all about luxe livability in 2021.”

CB2 points out that we’re going to see lots of permanent outdoor solutions in 2021, as people are prioritizing vitamin D (and wellness, in general).

If you don’t have a full room to convert to an office, CB2 recommends a sleek console table that can be used as a desk but can also be nestled away easily when needed.

Mixing patterns, periods, and genres to find your personal style at home is the name of the game this year. Think wallpaper, quirky mirrors, and “extra” drapes.
