Lady Gaga has performed at a range of venues from the Super Bowl to the Grammys, but there’s no doubt that Wednesday will be a particularly special one. She will be singing the National Anthem on Inauguration Day before President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris get sworn in. Lady Gaga had utilized her massive platform to campaign for the Biden-Harris ticket, so she was a fitting choice for the event.
In her new Instagram post, Lady Gaga acknowledged the weight of the moment. “I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans,” she captioned her photo. “A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance, not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol.”
In the image, Lady Gaga wore an all-white outfit including a caped coat and a matching face mask. As you may know, wearing white has become a powerful symbol in politics, representing the women’s suffrage movement. Scroll down to see her new photo ahead of Inauguration Day.
