Real Housewives of Orange County star Braunwyn Windham-Burke confessed to being an alcoholic during this season — and she says she came close to drinking again to prep for this season’s reunion.
“Before the reunion I was right there next to my bed, on the floor, crying hysterically,” she said on an episode of Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” show. “I almost drank — I mean this is horrible to say — I almost drank because I thought if I drink, I can go to rehab and won’t have to go to the reunion.”
She continued: “I almost drank so I wouldn’t have to do my job,” she said as she wiped away tears. “My sobriety is not fake, and this is hard, and I do struggle.”
During this season, Braunwyn opened up about her addiction. The reality television star also came out as gay shortly after the season premiered.

She also slammed Kelly Dood who accused her of faking her sobriety.
“It’s hurtful. You know, my sobriety is not debatable. It’s not. That is off the table. I am sober. I am working [on] a program period,” she told Us Weekly.
She added: “You don’t get to tell me the right way to get sober. That’s not up to you. That’s up to me. And I have people that I talk to that I trust in the program. You’re not in the program, keep your mouth shut if you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
