Meghan Markle Wore Naked Shoes to Her First Hollywood Event in 2006

Some people may not have known about Meghan Markle until her relationship with Prince Harry became public, but Suits fans have probably been following her since the show debuted back in 2011. But five years before that, it’s safe to say Markle was a bit more under-the-radar. That’s when she was first photographed at a celebrity event—along with Mandy Moore, no less.

For the 2006 event, which was celebrating a Coach photo exhibit, Markle wore a simple tank dress and an oversize clutch, but it’s her shoes that caught our eye. Perfectly matching her skin tone, her nude heels create a “naked,” barely there effect that feels very on-trend 14 years later. Of course, her sense of style has evolved since becoming a royal and now a new mother, but it’s clear Markle always had a thing for fashion. Flip flops, but make it fashion

Bottega Veneta sure knows how to make a covetable accessory.

I love the cool block heel on these By Far shoes.

Hello, comfort.

Jacquemus can never do wrong.

Markle owns this shoe style in several different colors.

When you want to wear flip-flops but still look chic.

I love the toe strap on these chic slides.

Notice the built-in ankle bracelets? So cute.

Who’s lucky enough to live somewhere tropical?

Strappy flats will never go out of style.

The Bottega Veneta shoes are just as posh as the high-heeled versions.

It looks like high-heeled flip-flops will still have legs in 2021.

The square toe makes these ballet flats feel fresh.

Very Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, no?

Simon Miller always comes through with quirky designs.

These sandals are a celeb favorite and will last you for years and years to come.

ICYMI, chocolate brown fashion items are a major color trend for fall and winter.

No muss, no fuss.

Staud is equally adept at designing It shoes as they are churning out It bags.

I love these oversized buckles.

Sleek and simple. How can you go wrong?

This block heel no doubt makes these sandals easier to walk in.

Another built-in ankle bracelet? Count me in.

Let’s be honest, the kitten heel trend has never really gone away.

Next, Meghan Markle wore skinny jeans with her favorite under-$150 flats.
