Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old Astroworld festival attendee, has died from his injuries after he was trampled on during the event.
He is the 10th person to die.
“He was so stoked. He was ready to go,” his father Treston told ABC13.
Treston says he Ezra high on his shoulders and that they stayed near the back of the crowd because Treston said he thought it would be calmer. He said as soon as Travis Scott took the stage, people started pushing and he lost consciousness. Ezra fell to the ground and was trampled. When he regained consciousness, he could not find his Ezra.
MAYHEM AT ASTROWORLD
He rushed to on-site medic tents, as well as several hospitals and filed a police report. Later he received a message from police which had a picture of his son.
“The Blount family is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration,” family attorney Ben Crump said in a statement. “Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”
