There are two eras of my life: summers before bikinis and summers with bikinis. Around the time I hit puberty, my mom gave me the okay to wear the ever-so-sought after two-piece, and I never looked at another one-piece again. Not that there’s anything wrong with a one-piece; I just feel at home in a bikini. I love mixing them; I love wearing a matching set; I love rotating a string bikini top to get that cute mermaid look; there’s never a wrong move them. This year especially: barely-there string sets are back; high-cut bottoms and V-wire bras create a sporty-chic look; halter tops with checkered prints bring 90s vibes; cut-out details and cute frilly trims abound in neon hues and neutrals. My swimwear picks are so fun this year, I think the rest of my wardrobe is jealous of the attention I’m giving them. Since summer is in full swing, I’ve decided to share my 9 favorites for beach and pool days alike.
I’m not usually one for animal print, but I’m fully on board with the cow-print trend this year. It looks especially cute on this underwire V-cup number.
Ribbed swimsuits look really elevated in my opinion, and I can’t deny this super pretty lilac shade. Just imagine it against your summer tan.
Another V-cup because I adore them, especially in this sporty style. I’d wear this with biker shorts and an open white button-down to coffee or underneath a crochet dress to drinks.
Low and behold, the bell of the ball, summer’s It print—checkers. I’m obsessed with this fabric, in this color, in this style. I’m ready for people to stop and stare into the optical illusion.
There’s something really pretty about this red-and-white print with the ruching and string. The top would look super cute with a pair of light denim cutoffs.
Tie-knot bikinis are classics for a reason. I know this is the look I want the day after I had too many piña coladas and need to remind my friends I am, in fact, a sophisticated adult, too.
Who doesn’t look supremely confident in a bandeau top and high-waisted bikini? That’s right—you can’t think of a single person.
